Steve Wilder has spent the past 32 years in healthcare safety, security, and risk management. He has provided consultation services to hundreds of clients, including hospitals, long-term care, home care agencies, clinics, physician practices and pre-hospital/EMS services. In his corporate healthcare career, Steve served as a hospital Director of Risk Management, as Corporate Director of Risk Management for a long-term care corporation, and as Corporate Director of Safety and Security for healthcare system with 10 hospitals and 15 long-term care facilities.
Steve has performed security vulnerability assessments and mock OSHA audits at over 200 healthcare facilities across the United States, and has trained thousands of workers in workplace safety and security.
An experienced trial expert, Steve has consulted for law firms and insurance companies on issues of healthcare safety, security, risk management, aggression management, and workplace violence. He also has written numerous articles for healthcare magazines and trade journals. He and his partner Chris Sorensen are co-authors of the book The Essentials of Aggression Management in Healthcare: From Talkdown to Takedown. Steve also writes a monthly safety column for Long Term Living magazine.
